Name[edit]

Cathlorhynchus trismodipterus Campbell et al., 2009

  • Holotype: ANU 46495 (skull roof).
  • Paratypes: ANU 46496, 46497 (mandibles).
  • Type unit and locality: Holotype from the base of the Currajong Limestone near the Shearing Shed, on Goodradigbee Station. Paratypes from the basal Currajong Limestone Member at reef 35802.0030 S, 148839.1690 E.

Etymology: The specific name is from the Greek trismos (= grinding); referring to the biting habit of the animal.
