Type locality: Brazil, Minas Gerais, Presidente Juscelino, rio Cipó at Fazenda Duas Barras, 18°41’04”S 43°59’18”W.
Etymology: a patronym honoring Charles Frederick Hartt, a Canadian-American geologist, and first professor of Geology at Cornell University.
