- Holotype: USNM 562864, adult ♂, collected by Franklin E. Castañeda, Tomás Manzanares, and James R. McCranie on 17 June 2005.
- Type locality: “Parque Nacional El Cusuco Centro de Visitantes, 15°31′ N, 88°12′ W, 1550 m elevation, Departamento de Cortés, Honduras”.
