  • Holotype: SMF PO 91442; otolith.
  • Paratypes: (20) SMF PO 91443-91450, 91452-91458; otoliths.

Type locality and horizon: Gabon, Ewongue 3, 189 m, Mandorové FM, Miocene, Serravallian to Early Tortonian.

Etymology: Named in honor of Ivan de Klasz (Nice), who collected the otoliths from Gabon described by the author, and also in recognition of his many contributions to the knowledge of the fossils of tropical West Africa.
