Holotype: MPEG 26409.

Paratypes (12): INPA 48537 (2); MPEG] 26408 (3 + 3 c&s); MNRJ 43440 (2); MCP 48790 (2).

Type locality: Brazil, Pará, Castelo de Sonhos municipality, unnamed stream tributary to the Rio Curuá, itself a tributary to the Rio Iriri, Rio Xingu basin, 8°26’44.7"S, 55°09’25.0"W.

Etymology: The specific epithet marianae is a reference to Mariana P. Wosiacki, daughter of one of the authors.
