Apistogramma helkeri Schindler & Staeck, 2013

  • Holotype: MTD F 33020.
  • Paratype: MTD F 33021.

Type locality: Venezuela, Estado Amazonas, drainage of the lower río Cuao, approx. 500 m upstream of the village Danto, approx. 05°02′N, 67°33′W [1].

Etymology: The species is named after Oliver Helker, one of the collectors, who brought this species to attention of the authors and provided several photos and the information on the collecting site.
