- Holotype: SMF 90149 (original field number SL 529), adult ♂, collected by Andreas Hertz and Sebastian Lotzkat on 19 November 2009.
- Type locality: “north slope of Cerro Pando, leaving the cattle trail to the right after following it to about 1000 m airline north of the large border monument, 8.9333°N, 82.7131°W, 2310 m elevation, Parque Internacional La Amistad (PILA), Bocas del Toro Province, Panama, close to the border with Costa Rica”.
