  • Holotype: NZCS F7092.
  • Paratypes: RMNH ZMA 250.034 (1, 0), 250.035 (2, 0), 250.037 (1, 0, (c&s)), 250.036 (0, 1).

Type locality: Suriname: Upper Nickerie River drainage, 4°50'42" N, 56°50'54" W.

Etymology: The species is named for collector and friend of the author Frans Vermeulen, Aruba, in appreciation of his continued contributions towards discovery of new rivulids.
