      • Type locality: Bayonne [Pyrénées-Atlantiques, France]. Type in Berlin-Dahlem museum probably lost.
      • Neotype: Yarmouth, collected 1797 by Sowerby, identified by Roth as Ceramium roseum, BM-K. (duplicate at BM).
