[edit]Holotype: BMNH 1897.11.17.16, adult ♂, collected by C. Stuart Betton during construction of the Uganda Railway about 1896.
Type locality: “Samburu, Coast Province, southeastern Kenya (39º17’S, 3°47’E), elevation 295 m.”
