Thamnophis sirtalis (Linnaeus, 1758) [conserved name]

  • Type material: probably lost.
  • Neotype: FMNH 73660 (formerly ROM 7167), adult ♂, collected by G.M. Bureau in 1942. [designated by Schmidt & Conant (1956: 228), rejected by Opinion 771 (1966: 38)]
  • Type locality: “Canada”, restricted to “Quebec, Quebec County, Province of Quebec, Canada” by Schmidt & Conant (1956: 228), and rejected by Opinion 771 (1966: 38).
  • Placed on the Official List of Specific Names in Zoology by Opinion 385 (1956: 193).
