  • Basionym: Parmelia joranadia T.H.Nash, 1974
  • Etymology: Named after the Jornada Experimental Range operated by the USDA Agricultural Research Service, located in the northern Chihuahuan Desert, approximately 25 km northeast of Las Cruces, New Mexico.
