  • Please write some short general introduction to yourself and your project on your main user page. You can create other pages like the Haiti one in your user space, using User:Whar10/name of page, have fun ...

Hi back at ya!

Thanks so much. Am having fun. Must now go home. Husband has dinner on the table for me!

You have been very helpful!

Don't know quite where I'm going with this and some of the names don't seem to be linking up with anything, but that's for another day!

Cheers!

Mary

Google[edit]

You might be pleased to know that your page is picked up by Google searches, e.g., see http://www.google.co.nz/search?rlz=1T4SKPB_enNZ320NZ320&hl=en&source=hp&q=%22food+plants+of+haiti%22&meta=&aq=f&oq=

Unlinked names[edit]

you say: some of the names don't seem to be linking up with anything

this could be because nobody has created the main Wikispecies page for that species yet - Wikispecies does not yet have a page for every species - but you can create the missing pages if you wish. Another possibilty is that the name you are using isn't the currently accepted name for the species, or there is disagreement about that. At any rate, it is up to you to make of it what you will ...

It has occured to me. I will link as best I can using Wikipedia sources and then I'll load the blanks when I'm done.

What's the protocol on using thumbnail photos from the Wiki sites in a situation like this?

images[edit]

you said: What's the protocol on using thumbnail photos from the Wiki sites in a situation like this?

not sure exactly what you are asking, but all images used here have to have been uploaded to Wikimedia Commons with free license. Generally, we only add one image to a Wikispecies taxon page ... have a browse through some pages, look at the source code, and try to get a feel for what we are doing ...

We only have 1 image per taxon page unless the organism exhibits dimorphism (which is quite unlikely for plants). In extreme cases (stressing the point of extreme), we can reopen local media upload to allow non-free media to be used in the project. OhanaUnitedTalk page 05:20, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
