Welcome to Wikispecies!

Hello, and welcome to Wikispecies! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

If you have named a taxon, then it is likely that there is (or will be) a Wikispecies page about you, and other pages about your published papers. Please see our advice and guidance for taxon authors.

If you have useful images to contribute to Wikispecies, please upload them at Wikimedia Commons. This is also true for video or audio files containing bird songs, whale vocalization, etc.

Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username (if you're logged in) and the date. Please also read the Wikispecies policy What Wikispecies is not. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or in the Village Pump. Again, welcome!

notes[edit]

Thanks for contributing. Please do not add English prose. Save it for en:wikipedia. We try to limit information to taxonomy, name info and references. Thanks -- Lycaon 22:37, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Botanical Author Abbreviations[edit]

Hello there, I am not sure if you were aware that there is a standard list for botanical author abbreviations at http://www.ipni.org/ipni/authorsearch?request_type=search&output_format=query&ret_defaults=on

I have noticed that a couple of your abbreviations do not match. It is not a big deal but I thought you might like to know.

thanks a lot for the link. I will correct some entries, and will use some data from IPNI, but will add some additional data, if they are available. Greets, --Steven69 15:45, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

var.[edit]

Thanks for notifying. I will consider this and change it.--Steven69 10:15, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
