Welcome to Wikispecies, Nocontroversy~specieswiki! We like having new people contributing to Wikispecies. Here are a few things that may be interesting: Have a look at Done and to do. Help:Contents provides a good introduction to editing Wikispecies. Templates are there to help you following syntax and formatting rules. Please ask further questions in the Village Pump. Please don't upload files to Wikispecies unless there's a special reason to do so; use the Wikimedia Commons instead. We hope you'll enjoy the time you spend on Wikispecies! I must admit I know very little about viruses and it seens that none of the current editors are working on viruses. The little bit that is on wikispecies is not in keeping with the rest of the web site. If you want to add the data that is great. There will not be a way to automatically load the data. Unfortunately we are not a database yet. I have some Excel macros that Keith Edkin wrote that can help take formatted excel spreadsheets and convert them to the text of a wikispecies article. If you are comfortable with excel macros I can share them with you.

The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.

Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
