Alles in English[edit]

Hi Joschy, I will answer in English, but i will try to keep it simple, denn brauchen Sie keinen Wörterbuch. My German is not good enough to write in it, sorry.
The aim (das Ziel) of WS is to construct a taxonomical list of all living things. During the first phase we only add taxonomy, name, author and interwiki links (and and image if possible). Those things would be the same in any language. That's why we use Ordo instead of Order or Phylum instead or Stamm, etc. The only pages that would have to be translated initially would be Hauptseite, help pages and other text pages. We of course welcome assistance from everybody in doing those translations. The main body of text for a taxon (with description, distribution, ecology, etc.) would go on the respective wikipedia's with a link connecting them. I think that if we would have seperate language Wikispecies, as it is for wikipedias (where it is of course the only way to do it), it would take an eternity to reach where we have by now, as it would require specialists, or at least interested people, from every language to fill a database containing identical data. As it is now, the combined effort leads much faster to results. I am not a native English speaker neither, but that doesn't stop me from contributing. Grüße. I try it in English: I mean all the articels from WS. I do understand that WS is still in a phase of planning and so, but there must be a possibility to translate the articels now. See, if we wait until planning is over there will be hundreds of articels and we do not have so much users tarnslating each article into its language. I can understand that the project needs fast results, but the results will be more if there is the possibillity of translation. I did the German template of the Sisterprojects (Schwesterprojekte) on the Main Page. That was still all what I can do for the German WS. (You may try it in German, because understanding those specific words is very hard.) -- Joschy 12:01, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
