Name

- Syntypes (2): BMNH 1946.1.20.2 (formerly 1847.3.4.62), juvenile indet., and BMNH 1946.1.19.31 (formerly 1847.3.4.64), adult ♂, presented by E. Belcher between 1843–1846.
- Type locality: “West coast of (North?) America?”, corrected to “Ishigaki shima” by Stejneger (1907: 471).

[edit]- Japan: Ryukyu Islands : Yaeyama Islands: Aragusukujima, Irimoteshima, Ishigakishima, Kayamajima, Kohamajima, Kuroshima, Miyakoshima, Sakishima and Taketomijima.
