Trichomycterus diatropoporos Ferrer & Malabarba, 2013

  • Holotype: MCP 46947.
  • Paratypes: MCP 35050 (8), 40933 (2, c&s), 22789 (2), 40940 (2); MCN 18928 (5); UFRGS 16237 (1, c&s), 16238 (4, 1c&s).

Type locality: Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul State, municipality of Nova Prata, rio da Prata on Passo do Despraiado, 28º38’04”S, 51º36’53”W.

Etymology: The specific name is a combination from the Greek diatropos (= variable), and poros (= pore), in reference to the variation in the presence of pores i1 and i3 of infraorbital sensory canal of the species.
