The New Google Books[edit]

Google Books has a new interface, thus a new linking structure. The "Classic Google Books" still exists. I tried to find whether or when they will discontinue the Classic links on the Google Books site, but could not. Hopefully they will implement automatic redirects when they do discontinue the classic version so that links still work.

However, I thought I'd share the difference. This is for the book Synopsis specierum generis asterum herbacearum praemissis nonnullis de asteribus in genre, eorum structura et evolutione naturali by Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck, 1818.

Classic Google Books link: https://books.google.com/books?id=gR4yAQAAMAAJ&newbks=1&newbks_redir=0

New Google Books link: https://www.google.com/books/edition/Synopsis_specierum_generis_asterum_herba/gR4yAQAAMAAJ

The Classic link does have a "newbks_redir" flag, which is perhaps how they will handle it.

I wanted to put this out there in case we discover in the future that we have problems with this template.
