= As far as possible, the families were again identified by their monographers. At the request of the management of the Royal Botanical Museum, some of the plants collected in Guatemala were sent to Capt. J. Donn. Smith in Baltimore, and some of the plants from Mexico were sent to Prof. B. L. Robinson, Curator of the Gray Herbarium in Cambridge, Mass., for preliminary identification, against payment of duplicates.
