• Tivicis is treated as valid by Colonnelli (2009), but without reference to Kuschel (2008), and without any comment on validity/synonymy relative to Viticis
• Kuschel's (2008: 194) argumentation for the synonymy seems convincing (i.e., 'recognition of a separate genus for species that differ solely by having just remnants of a claw segment, instead of none at all, does not seem to be phylogenetically warranted'), and is therefore followed herein
• Oberprieler (2010: 24) follows Kuschel (2008)
