Meaning of Viroid[edit]

Currently this page says: Viroid: infectious particle Infectious agents which do not have a nucleic acid genome. RNA alone is the infectious agent.

This is nonsensical; if RNA alone is the infectious agent, then this infectious agent most definitely has a nucleic acid genome. It's just a ribonucleic acid genome instead of a deoxyribonucleic acid genome. What's interesting about viroids is that they do not surround their 'genome' in any protein or lipid shield. I'm updating the article to reflect this fact. --Centinel 02:10, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting information. Can be temporarily left on article space. What we really need though, is some kind of viroid taxonomy... -- Lycaon 05:41, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Reverted back the defention and the added reference link...I created the topic you could at least give me the courtesy of an explanation. What was wrong with the reference link? And the definition?--124.80.225.186 10:29, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your contribution on the taxonomy part. Please read the help files on content. We do not allow plain text. Morover references are to be limited to scientific publications or sites where the taxonomy is elaborated and referenced. Lycaon 14:22, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
