Distribution[edit]

  • New Zealand species (2+): T. capsulata – T. fusca
+ [NOTE: 'Two separate types of female were taken in association with males of capsulata, both very different from female fusca. I am unable to say which is capsulata. Thus, there are at least three species of Trichomyia in New Zealand' (Duckhouse, 1980: 190)]

Subgenera[edit]

The subgenera are not correct. PeterR (talk) 08:02, 24 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the species of this genus are not referred to a defined subgenus, though almost all may be placed into informal groups based on the segmentation of the maxillary palp (which may be four-segmented [with or without the two basal segments more-or-less fused] or three-segmented).
