- According to Klass et al. (2000: 122), 'several hundred alates of Stolotermes inopinus were collected from pine stumps and logs 5 km north of Muriwai Beach, in the Carter Holt Harvey Forest in the SE of the North Island of New Zealand', but presumably they are referring to Woodhill Forest, behind Muriwai Beach, in the NW of the North Island of New Zealand (Auckland region, AK).
