Distribution[edit]

  • New Zealand(E)
    • North Island (CL)

Taxonomic notes[edit]

  • this species is known with certainty only from Great Barrier Island, but is very close to S. glabratus, and similar (or identical?) species have been seen from the Mokohinau Islands, Mount Moehau, Cuvier Island, Hunua Ranges, and Waipoua Forest. All of them have a trilamellate antennal club in both sexes. Stho002 00:36, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • There are numerous specimens now in AMNZ from Great Barrier Island, possibly representing two very closely allied species, one uniformly coloured (true S. watti?), and one distinctly mottled. Stho002 08:26, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
