All Maurica have two pairs of spurs on hind tibiae, while bellieri with its subspecies berytta has only one apical pair of spurs. So, they were transferred into the genus Ocnogyna (Dubatolov, 2004). Maurica species occur in North-Western Africa only, but Ocnogyna bellieri and O. b. berytta - in Near East
