The monocot-dicot (Magnoliopsida-Liliopsida) dichotomy is not current. The phylogeny is not completely settled, but there seems to be 8 groups involved - Amborellales (a single species), Nymphales (water lilies), Austrobaileyales, Ceratophyllales (hornworts), Chloranthales, Magnoliids, Eudicots and Monocots. The last five groups appear to form a larger group - the Euangiosperms.

Clarification

Nomenclaturally, the name Magnoliophyta is in the rank of division (aka phylum). What this name refers to is determined by the taxonomy that is being followed. This name is best known for its use by the Cronquist system (1981) (still followed by ITIS and the USDA). There this name refers to the angiosperms. The subdivision into two subclasses (Magnoliopsida and Liliopsida) is also that of the Cronquist system. This is fundamentally incompatible with APG (or any contemporary taxonomic thinking).
