Due to reclassification of genera, two birds with the specific epithet militaris Linnaeus now fall in Sturnella. The Red-breasted Blackbird, formerly called Leistes militaris, has priority on the name. The other, the Pampas Meadowlark, must now be referred to the next available name, Sturnella defilippii Bonaparte.
