Hyphessobrycon ellisae Bragança et al., 2015 is a secondary homonym of Hyphessobrycon (now Bryconacidnus) ellisi (correctly ellisae) Pearson, 1924.

Explanation: Pearson described in 1924 Hyphessobrycon ellisi to honour Marion Durbin Ellis, but incorrectly added to the stem of the name an -i, which had to be added only in the case, that the honoured person is a man. In this case the honoured person is a woman, and the author should had to add -ae, as it is regulated by the ICZN (Art. 31.1.2.). Therefore the correct name for this species is Hyphessobrycon ellisae Pearson, 1924, and so Hyphessobrycon ellisae Bragança et al., 2015 is a secondary homonym, and needs a pelacement name.
