- Species (2, but a revision is needed): G. brookesi – G. picea
- NOTE: with most species (including the type species) in New Caledonia and Australia, it is hard to know why Macfarlane et al. (2010: 420) underline Gnaphalopoda as a genus endemic to New Zealand. The fact that they do so without comment suggests that it may simply be an error.
