Distribution[edit]
- Australia
- Biostatus: endemic
- New Zealand
- Biostatus: adventive
- First reported in N.Z.: White & Doubleday, 1843: 278, as Phoracantha dorsalis
- Earliest N.Z. record: 'New Zealand', sometime before 1843
- NOTE: this early record appears to have been rejected, and the species was not seen again in New Zealand until 2009, where it has now established in and around Christchurch, in the South Island (MAF Biosecurity New Zealand (2010: 27), Burnip, Bradbury & O’Donnell (2010: 285))
