Talk:Duvaliomimus watti
Distribution[edit]
- New Zealand [endemic]
- restricted to North Island (AK, CL, BP), including one record from Little Barrier Island (CL)
- the only AK record is the holotype from the Hunua Ranges (Townsend, 2010: 50), but see the 'Mt. William near Pokeno' record of Townsend (1997: 6)
- recorded from near the summit (950 m) of Mount Te Aroha (BP)
Abundance[edit]
- in the most recent revision, Townsend (2010: 50) examined 20 specimens, from 5 distinct collecting events
- most recent collection: 1995
Habitat[edit]
- terrestrial (strongly associated with freshwater)
- according to Townsend (2010: 50), 'distribution of this species appears to be confined to streams running through hard rocks which break down to form chippy material in clean water'
Notes[edit]
- material referred to this species by Townsend (1997: 6), but not subsequently mentioned by Townsend (2010), needs to be revisited for verification
