Curcuma yunnanensis was legitimately described by N. Liu and C. Senjen (1987) with latin diagnosis. It is one out of 12 accepted Chinese Curcuma species. In latest publications (Komatsu et al., 2004), Curcuma yunnanensis - among others - is analysed at the molecular basis for trnK gene by PCR technique.
