Notes[edit]

Curcuma albicoma was legitimately described by S.Q. Tong (1986). The status of this species as a distict sp. out of 12 Curcuma sp. occuring in China was unclear. According to lastest taxonomically studies (Liu & Wu, 1999) Curcuma sichuanensis is synonym to Curcuma albicoma, both should be reduced to C. longa. These findings also agree with latest results by Xiao et al. (2001, 2004), based on numerical taxonomy, extensively using RAPD, histological and morphological techniques.
