Distribution - There is no country like Czechoslovakia anymore. --Abraham (talk) 06:18, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Like POWO, WCSP and others we follow Brummitt, R.K. 2001. TDWG – World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions, 2 PDF in plant distribution. In Europe the subdivision into Level 3 floristic territories still follows Flora Europaea. So Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia continue to exist as floristic territories. The floristic territories have political names, but often do not reflect the political units. For instance, "France" is here only mainland France, including Monaco and the Channel Islands, but excluding Corsica and the overseas territories. "Spain" is mainland Spain, including Gibraltar and Andorra, excluding Baleares and Canary Islands, which form own floristic territories, and the North African enclaves Ceuta and Melilla, which belong to the floristic territory of Morocco. --RLJ (talk) 13:37, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
