Sarayi vs Sarai[edit]

Burmeister: Should this be linked to Q2380161?? The only difference is the "y" and I can't tell if this is a typo or not. That item links to a WoRMS item, where the taxon is spelled with the "y", even though the WD item itself doesn't have the "y". What do you think? Thanks! לוכסן (talk) 11:45, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! @לוכסן: The original publication cite Bubaris sarayi sp. nov. on page 46, and the etymology is cited as "named sarayi in honor of Saray Ilan" on page 48. The correct spelling is sarayi. Regards, Burmeister (talk) 12:06, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Burmeister: I see. Thanks for explaining! So, in which case, the item should be corrected? Or a new item should be made with the “sarayi" spelling? That is, is this a pure-typo, or considered a “distinct name” taxonomically? לוכסן (talk) 18:30, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Probably a typo made in wikipedia, since WoRMS use sarayi. I already corrected the entry in wikidata. Burmeister (talk) 13:06, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
