@Haps: I couldn't find no evidence, that B.R. Silliman is a taxon authority. Also notice, that adequate category is missing--Estopedist1 (talk) 06:36, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I checked out some of his numerous titles, and there are a few with taxonomic value. Neferkheperre (talk) 14:45, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Neferkheperre: please clarify, because notice of speedy deletion is removed. If Silliman has no taxon authored it is automatically out of scope. And if suspicious person (like this one), then proofing obligation lies on the article's creator: user:Haps (was online in 2016)--Estopedist1 (talk) 05:35, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Really, naming a taxon is a nomenclatural act. Generic re-assignment, synonymizing taxa, resurrection from synonymy, re-descriptions, supplementary descriptions, revisions and validity assessments are all taxonomic acts. All are eligible for WS. In Silliman's case, I just quickly buzzed down his references list, and noted one where he had confirmed validity of a genus of invertebrate. There may be others. @Neferkheperre: of course, of course :) I guessed that your's phrase "and there are a few with taxonomic value" meant that this person is somehow dealt with taxonomical theory and not with taxonomic acts. Now we know that this person is in WS scope. Thanks for the explaining comment!--Estopedist1 (talk) 16:44, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
