Bos or Bison?
[edit]w:Bison, paragraph 3, says genetic studies have shown that bison belong in the genus Bos, that they are not different enough to merit their own genus. Please could someone either change the listing here, or correct the Wikipedia article? 24.108.0.44 00:06, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
- I haven't got access to any recent literature upon the subject, but the statement in English Wikipedia only says that "modern genetics indicates that Bison is nested within the genus Bos", and on top of that the WP claim is poorly referenced. –Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 09:41, 20 January 2025 (UTC).
