Amerilini species are only outwardly similar to Phaegopterini; however, their male genitalia are strongly different and have some similarities with several Callimorphini genera, like a splaying gland on external surface of valves (apparent synapomorphic character). - V.V.Dubatolov, 26, Sept., 2011.
