Moved from Alestiidae. According to en:wikipedia and fishbase this is now the correct name for this family. Isfisk 14:19, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Those Family have three tribus: Alestini, Hydrocinini and Petersiini (Subfamilia Alestinae, Familia Characidae)

Others have Alestidae: Alestinae, Hydrocininae.
