  • Paratypes: ZSI FF 4974 (3); MZUBM F. 130021-130023 (3); PUCMF 13010 (8), 13011 (4), 13012 (2).

Type locality: India, Mizoram, Pharsih River, a tributary of Tuivai River (Barak drainage) in the vicinity of Kawlbem, Champhai District, 23°51'58"N; 93°17'20"E [1].

Etymology: The specific name is derived from the Latin for ‘spotted’, referring to the numerous black spots on the caudal and dorsal fins.
