Lectotype: BMNH 1863.10.12.4 (Lectotype designated by Whitehead & Greenwood (1959)). Paralectotypes: BMNH 1863.10.12.5-6 (4).

Type locality: Eastern Africa [Tanzania/Mozambique]], Rovuma [Ruvuma] River.[1]
