- Holotype: BMNH 1946.1.15.58 (formerly RM), ♀, collected by Richard Hanitsch (Raffles Museum), in March 1899.
- Type locality: “Mount Kina Balu, 4200 ft., North Borneo“ [= Mount Kinabalu (6°05'N, 116°33'E, 1280 m asl.), Sabah, Malaysia].
