  • Holotype: ZM-CBSU J3246.
  • Paratypes: FSJF 3458 (43), 3221 (45); GUIC 1011 (1), 10112 (13); TUIC 10001-1 (25); ZM-CBSU J2917 (2), J3247 (24), J2672 (17).

Type locality: Iran: Golestan prov.: Zarrin-Gol stream, south of Zarrin-Gol village and south-east of Ali Abad e Katool city, a tributary of Gorgan River, 36°50'39" N, 54°58'24" E.

Etymology: The species is named for Hyrcania, the Greek name for the southern Caspian Sea region where the species occurs.
