Note: Kiesling et al. (2023) found that Opuntia weberi (1905) was a later synonym of Opuntia aulacothele (1904) and when this taxon was transferred to Tephrocactus, Tephrocactus weberi becomes a nomen superfluum in favour of Tephrocactus aulacothele (F.A.C.Weber) R.Kiesling & Oakley, Bradleya 41: 101.
