Lepthoplosternum stellatum Reis & Kaefer, 2005

  • Holotype: MCP 35599.
  • Paratypes: MCP 30651 (7, 1 c&s); UF 146223 (4).

Type locality: Igarapé Repartimento, tributary of Lago Tefé, 1.5 kilometers downstream from bridge on Tefé-Agrovila road, 3°24'28"S, 64°44'10"W, Tefé, Amazonas, Brazil.

Etymology: From stellatum starred, referring to small dark-brown, roundish dots covering entire body. (From The ETYFish project)
