Lectotype: ZMB 6209. [designated by Maslin & Secoy (1986)]

Type locality: “Mexico”, restricted to “Matamoros (Izucar)”, Puebla, by Smith & Taylor (1950) and subsequently to “Oaxaca, Oaxaca, Mexico” by Duellman & Zweifel (1962).
