- Holotype: ZFMK 73956, adult ♂, collected by David Modrý, Jan R. Šlapeta and Jiri Volf on 11 February 2001.
- Type locality: “approx. 2 km north of Gatab in the montane forest of Mount Kulal, Northern Frontier Division of Kenya, 02°39’52.6’’N; 36°56’11.4’’E, 1800 m a.s.l.”
