  • Typus: Mexico. Guanajuato: crescit propter Guanaxuato Mexicanorum, Sep 1893, A. Humboldt & A. Bonpland s.n., obviously lost (Lectotype, designated by Sørensen 1995: description in Humboldt, Bonpland & Kunth, Nov. gen. sp. 3. 1819).
