- Holotype: NMB A7521, adult ♂, collected by M. Burger on 18 December 2001.
- Type locality: “at Nottingham Road (29°21’21” S, 29°59’36” E), KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa. The habitat is flat open terrain with shallow pools and flooded grassy patches”.
